A Two-Way Street: Bridging Global and Local Nutrition Research to Improve Maternal and Child Health (NUTRITION 2024 On Demand Collection)

This session explores how global nutrition research can support complementary nutrition research in the US, and vice versa, in order to promote optimal nutrition during the first 1,000 days and thereafter. Presenters will share examples about influences of the food environment on maternal and child diets in the Galapagos and the US, water insecurity in low- and middle-income settings and US, infant feeding interventions in low- and middle-income settings and the US, and the experiences of nutrition-focused community health workers in rural areas of Southern Africa and the US.

Originally presented at NUTRITION 2025, ASN's flagship meeting which was held May 31 to June 3 in Orlando, FL.
