ASN Publications

Publishing timely and important findings in basic, clinical, and emerging nutrition science research, the society journals are the premier journals in the field of nutrition. In addition to research reports, journals enhance content by providing commentaries and critical reviews written by leaders in the scientific community and special supplement issues on topics in nutrition.

ASN’s family of journals includes:

The Journal of Nutrition: Published since 1928, The Journal of Nutrition (JN) was the first scientific journal created solely for publication of nutrition research. Contents include peer-reviewed research reports on all aspects of experimental nutrition, critical reviews, commentaries, and symposium and workshop proceedings. Periodically, supplements to JN are published, and these contain proceedings from internationally recognized conferences on clinical nutrition. Supplements are included in the subscription rate and are also available for purchase individually. Refer to our list of available supplements.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition: In publication since 1952, The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (AJCN) publishes the latest findings in basic and clinical studies relevant to human nutrition. AJCN was selected by the Special Libraries Association (SLA) as one of the top 100 most influential journals in Biology and Medicine over the last 100 years. AJCN is an important resource for researchers and practitioners in the field of clinical nutrition.

Advances in Nutrition: Advances in Nutrition responds to the growing demand for a prestigious, high-profile publication that gathers, synthesizes, and explains the current state of knowledge in all facets of the field. In addition to explaining the significance of new research findings, these reviews will also highlight research gaps and future directions. This publication will assist you in applying the latest findings and best practices to advance your own research and clinical practice.

Current Developments in Nutrition: ASN expanded its publications program in 2017 with the launch of Current Developments in Nutrition (CDN). CDN is a new open access, multidisciplinary nutrition science journal. Dr. Jack Odle, a distinguished faculty member at North Carolina State University and an active and long-standing ASN member, has been appointed as the first editor of CDN.
