Effective Use of Social Media in Nutrition Research and Practice

Social media platforms provide a premier opportunity to disseminate evidence-based nutrition messaging. Have you been connecting with over 3.7 billion social media users across the world? Nutrition researchers and professionals are the key players in promoting evidence-based nutrition information to scientists, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and the lay public. This interactive session will give you a quick synopsis and features of each top social media platform (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn) and provide tangible strategies to develop quality social media messaging. This activity addresses the importance of tailoring your message to a particular audience. Learn how to connect with your followers by creating informative, engaging messaging in this course.

This activity was organized by the ASN Early Career Nutrition (ECN) Interest Group.
