From Cohorts to Interventions: Unveiling the Interplay Between Diet and Sleep on Cardiovascular and Cardiometabolic Health
CME Credit Available for Physicians!
Addressing the complex interactions between diet and sleep is crucial for cardiovascular health. The AHA recently recognized the significance of sleep, including it in Life’s Essential 8 to underscore sleep’s impact on cardiovascular risk at both individual and population levels. While some health behaviors, such as physical activity, have been extensively studied in relation to diet, the relationship between diet and sleep remains a promising frontier yet to be fully explored. In alignment with the American Society for Nutrition’s vision of advancing a healthier world through evidence-based nutrition, this symposium aims to elucidate this important link. The event will feature diverse speakers presenting cutting-edge research from birth cohort studies to behavioral and clinical interventions and qualitative research. Attendees can anticipate gaining valuable insights on how diet-sleep interactions relate to cardiovascular health outcomes, with a call to integrate sleep health data into nutrition studies for a holistic approach to cardiovascular health.
Originally presented at NUTRITION 2025, ASN's flagship meeting which was held May 31 to June 3 in Orlando, FL.
