Advancing Nutrition Education in Medical Schools: A National Listening & Peer Exchange
Hosted by the American Society for Nutrition’s Medical Nutrition Learning Hub and collaborating partners
Thursday, October 29 from 3:00 to 4:15 PM ET
Participation by Invitation:
This event is designed for nutrition champions at U.S. medical schools who are working to integrate and strengthen nutrition education in undergraduate medical education. If you would like to participate and/or your medical school has not yet identified a participant, please contact us at [email protected]. We would be pleased to connect with you.
Description:
How can we strengthen nutrition education across medical schools and help institutions move from identifying strengths and gaps to taking practical action?
Join nutrition education and curriculum experts from the American Society for Nutrition’s Medical Nutrition Learning Hub and collaborating partners for a national listening and peer exchange focused on the challenges, opportunities, and practical approaches for advancing nutrition education in medical schools.
This interactive session will bring together nutrition education champions to share experiences, explore common barriers and solutions, and learn from institutions at different stages of implementation. Through brief examples, live polling, and small-group discussion, participants will identify priorities, exchange practical approaches, and consider a feasible next step for advancing nutrition education at their own institution.
Most importantly, we want to hear from you. What strengths can you build on? What challenges are you facing? What approaches are working? And what resources, connections, or support could help you move forward?
Join us to learn from colleagues, share your experience, and help shape the support needed to advance nutrition education across medical schools.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Identify strengths, gaps, and barriers in their institution’s nutrition education.
- Compare practical approaches for integrating and strengthening nutrition education across institutions.
- Define one feasible next step and the support needed to advance nutrition education locally.
