Beyond "GLP-1s": Mechanistic Insights into Amylin and Glucagon Pathways in Next Generation Obesity Medicines (NUTRITION 2026 Obesity Collection)
This course is included in the NUTRITION 2026 Obesity Collection.
Semaglutide and tirzepatide have transformed obesity treatment, but casually grouping the newest generation of highly effective medicines under the umbrella term "GLP 1s" overlooks the rapidly expanding landscape of metabolic targets in obesity medicine. As emerging therapies harness mechanisms involving amylin and glucagon signaling, understanding these pathways is increasingly essential. This session features internationally recognized experts Dr. Christelle Le Foll (amylin biology) and Dr. Kirk Habegger (glucagon biology) who will discuss the molecular mechanisms of these systems and their roles in appetite regulation, weight loss, and the management of obesity related complications.
