Advancing Equity: Cultural Competency in Nutrition (NUTRITION 2025 On Demand Collection)

This course is included in the NUTRITION 2025 On Demand Collection.

This session provides a deeper understanding of how creating culturally sensitive nutrition education materials and programs, including the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, contribute to effectively reaching diverse populations. Specifically, this session discusses the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC)’s application of a “health equity lens” in its work and the importance of culturally tailored dietary interventions. Additionally, this session integrates diverse perspectives including abstract flash talk presentation discussing culturally tailored diet interventions to highlight new emerging research. The session concludes with a panel discussion with all speakers.
