Sponsored by Cornell University’s College of Human Ecology, the Malden Nesheim Nutrition Landscape Award honors the breadth and impact of Malden Nesheim’s distinguished career by recognizing outstanding review articles or editorials published in The Journal of Nutrition. This award is presented annually and is supported by Cornell University in recognition of Dr. Nesheim’s contributions to the university and the field of nutrition science.

The inaugural award was presented in 2025 to Eduardo A. Pretell, MD (Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University, Lima, Peru) and Elizabeth N. Pearce, MD, MSc (Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine) for their compelling paper A History of the Elimination of Iodine Deficiency Disorders in the Americas: A Dramatic Achievement and Lessons Learned.
