Novel Research Methods in Nutrition (NUTRITION 2025 On Demand Collection)

This course is included in the NUTRITION 2025 On Demand Collection.

This course presents emerging methodological approaches that can help advance clinical decisions and dietary guidance for the field of nutrition. This will include an overview of alternative approaches to the traditional randomized controlled trial, including randomized encouragement trials, SMART, and Zelen designs as well as application of causal inference modeling, including multiverse analysis, using data from large prospective cohort studies. Presenters will discuss strengths and limitations of these approaches and how use of these methodologies can expand the evidence base to fill critical research gaps.

Originally presented at NUTRITION 2025, ASN's flagship meeting which was held May 31 to June 3 in Orlando, FL.
